Mechanism of Action
RADIESSE® is an injectable implant composed of smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres (diameter of 25 µm to 45 µm) suspended in a sodium carboxymethylcellulose gel carrier. RADIESSE is approximately 30% CaHA and 70% gel carrier by volume.

RADIESSE is injected under the skin in a minimally invasive procedure. Injection of the product provides an immediate and visible correction to the wrinkle. There is no skin sensitivity testing or reconstitution required.
Over time, the gel is absorbed, and fibroblasts appear. The process of neocollagenesis begins, stimulating the gradual growth of the patient’s own collagen.1 The collagen that forms results in extended correction and increased patient satisfaction. RADIESSE® builds structural scaffolding by stimulating collagen production for a year or longer after only 1 injection.
微晶瓷注射至皮下，可以產生立即可見的糾正皺紋的效果。無需做皮膚過敏試驗。材質被吸收後，會促進成纖維細胞產生，從而新生膠原蛋白的過程開始，刺激病人自身膠原蛋白的生長。由此病人可以有持續的糾正效果和滿意度。微晶瓷通過刺激膠原蛋白而構建結構框架，效果可以持續一年或更長時間。
Histology slides demonstrate deposition of new collagen around CaHA microspheres over an extended period of time. Collagen fibers stain red, while other tissue elements appear more yellow.
組織切片可以看到，隨著時間，在微晶瓷微球的周圍有新的膠原蛋白的生成。紅的的為膠原蛋白纖維，周圍其他組織顯現黃色。
The cosmetic results are immediate, natural and subtle. The correction is long-lasting, but not permanent. The CaHA microspheres naturally degrade to calcium and phosphate ions, which are metabolized by the body’s normal processes.
It is important to remember not to overcorrect (overfill) a contour deficiency with RADIESSE because the depression should gradually improve within several weeks as the treatment effect of RADIESSE occurs.

Adverse Events:
Common adverse events seen in clinical studies of RADIESSE® injected into the dorsum of the hand include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, itching, nodule or bumps/ lumps, difficulty performing activities, loss of sensation, and other local side effects. Common adverse events seen in clinical studies of RADIESSE® or RADIESSE® (+) injected into the face include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, itching, and other local side effects.
